ZIRO, Sep 14: The Lower Subansiri district police celebrated World Hindi Diwas at the office of the superintendent of police (SP) office here on Friday.
Representatives and students of more than 25 schools attended the programme.
A district level Hindi essay writing competition was earlier organized by the police during the ‘Hindi pakhwara’, in which more than 40 schools, both government and private, participated in various categories of competition.
The winners in the junior and senior categories were awarded with trophies and commendation certificates during the programme.
Several speakers deliberated on the importance of Hindi in uniting the various tribes of Arunachal and various states of India.
SP Hemant Tiwari presided over the programme. ADC Gumbu Tsering and DDSE Hibu Tama were also present on the occasion.
