LONGDING, Sep 15: Security forces apprehended five over-ground workers (OGWs) of the NSCN (K) during an operation here on 15 September.
The apprehended OGWs have been identified as Palai Wangsa, Bankpoh Lukham, Langphua Lukham, Akbar Sheikh and Imtijaj Rehman, said Kohima-based Defence PRO Col C Konwer.
Extortion money amounting to Rs 4 lakhs and other incriminating documents were seized from their possession, Col Konwer said.
Security forces have apprehended eight OGWs and linkmen of the banned outfit in the last past three days and recovered more than Rs 16 lakhs extortion money, he added.
