ITANAGAR, Sep 18: The Don Bosco College (DBC) lifted the second state level Teacher’s Football Trophy beating Don Bosco School (DBS) 3-0 in the final at Dera Natung Government College playground here on Monday.
The DBC team took the lead early in the 10th minute through Phassang Ekku.
A self-goal from Tadar Takia in 25th minute helped DBC double their lead at halftime (2-0).
DBC scored the third goal through Koj Ona in the 32nd minute.
Cash prize of Rs 50,000 was awarded to the winning team, while the runner- up team was awarded Rs 30,000.
Biju Manju of DBS and Rido Soni of DBC were adjudged the best player and best goalkeeper respectively.
Taba Sel of DBS became the highest scorer.
MLA Techi Kaso, who attended the closing ceremony, appreciated the Ajing United Club (AUC) for organising the tournament as a tribute to the teachers.
Responding to the AUC’s single-point memorandum for making the tournament a calendar event, Sports Authority of Arunachal Chairman Bamang Tago assured to take up the matter on a priority with the state government.
