KORONU, Sep 23: People thronged the venue of the Sarkar aapke dwar camp held here in Lower Dibang Valley district on Sunday, to avail the facilities provided by government departments, banks, and the postal department.
The crowd-pullers were the health camp, the stalls of the APEDA and the statistics department, and Jan Suvidha branch of the district administration.
The camp was inaugurated by Head Gaon Burah (HGB) T Umpo in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, CO Hage Atho, HoDs, and others.
The HGB, the DC and HoDs visited the stalls and distributed LCD TVs to registered labourers, gave away free LPG connections under the PMUY to the beneficiaries, and handed over keys under the PMAY (Grameen).
The health camp registered 683 people, while 76 new accounts were opened by the post office and other banks under the PMJDY, savings account and India Post Payments Bank.
The forest department distributed 100 free saplings to the public; 501 LED bulbs and EE fans were sold by the APEDA to 106 beneficiaries at subsidized rates. The agriculture department registered 134 farmers and distributed 34 soil health cards, 71 soil analysis reports, and 17 oil palm registration. The administration’s election branch created awareness on EVMs and VVPATs machine.
The veterinary department saw 91 cattle owners reporting for treatment and vaccination of their cattle. Medicine was provided for the treatment of 1085 cattle, mithun, swine, poultry, dogs and goats. The Koronu CO office received applications for 8 ST certificates, 7 PRCs, and 34 ILPs, and the Jan Suvidha branch issued 188 forms. (DIPRO)
