MIAO, Sep 24: The first Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) centre for the state’s eastern parliamentary constituency was inaugurated here in Changlang district by WRD Minister Kamlung Mossang.
The project, under the skill development & entrepreneurship ministry, is being implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
The Arunachal Pradesh Skill Development Mission (APSDM) monitors and validates the training providers after they qualify the criteria and grading metrics established by the NSDC. The Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT), empanelled under the APSDM, is the training provider.
Bethel Skills Miao director Chandan Prasad announced that one more centre, in Nongtham in Kharsang circle, has also been cleared by the government for the trades of weaving and textiles.
Addressing the trainees and the BLCCT officials, Mossang and other speakers spoke on the government’s initiatives to create self-employment avenues through skill development.
The centre will provide training to enhance the employability of individuals and improve their ability to adapt to the changing technologies and the labour market demands.
Miao ADC Tage Rumi, ex-ZPC Jowkhong Singpho, public leaders, officers, and others were also present at the inauguration.
