School boy drowns in Pare River

SAGALEE, Sep 26: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) retrieved the body of 14-year-old Kara Gungte from the Pare River under Papum Pare district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Gungte, a class nine student had gone to the river for fishing on 25 September when a flash flood swept him away.
On the morning of 26 September, two teams of the NDRF were constituted and began their search operation at the incident site and downstream area near the Doimukh Bridge.
After covering a distance of some one kilometre, Gungte’s body was found stuck to some rocks in the riverbed.
The teams were led by Assistant Commandant Sanjay Prasad Sharma and Inspector Inder Singh.
The body was later handed over to the police for further formalities.
