PASIGHAT, Oct 12: Assembly constituency level training for master trainers on electronic voting machines (EVMs) with voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) was conducted by the East Siang deputy commissioner cum district election officer, here at the Siang Hall on Friday.
Sanjay Taram (CO) AERO and Pema Dorjee (CO) nodal officer organized the training, while district level master trainer Devraj Singh, DIO (NIC) imparted the training on installation and operation of EVMs and VVPAT system.
Constituency level master trainers and staffers from Pasighat (HQ), Mebo, Ruksin, Nari, Pangin and Boleng participated, and cleared their doubts during the daylong training.
DEO Tamiyo Tatak informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has been introducing EVMs with VVPAT for the upcoming election process.
The VVPAT is a paper slip which will come out of the EVMs when a voter casts his vote. The slip will show on which symbol and candidate the voter cast his vote.
He instructed the trainees to attend the training sincerely so that they can impart training to the officers and officials entrusted with the job at booth level. (DIPRO)
