BOMDILA, Oct 15: The legal services authority of West Kameng district formallyopened up the 19thLegal Literacy Club (LLC) at the government college, here on Monday.
This is in pursuanceof directions of the National Legal Services Authority to open at least fiveLLCs in schools and colleges of each district.
Inaugurating the club, senior most puisne Judge of the Calcutta High Court, Justice NadiraPatherya spoke onthe responsibility of the legal services authorities in disseminating legal education.
Patherya told the gathering of students, college faculty and public, theimportance of an LLC in schools and colleges and alsohow the students can take advantage of such clubs.
She also dwelt on the Juvenile Justice Act and other laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,2012.
Earlier, the Additional District & Sessions Judge cum secretary of the district legal services authority also spoke on the occasion.
