ITANAGAR, Nov 4: In the run-up to the 39th college day celebration of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), which begins on 5 November, an open-to-all 12 km mini-marathon among the college community was organized here on 4 November.
The race was held in two categories – boys and girls.
Tago Sonam won the race in the boys’ category. Tami Tata and Phasang Taka came in second and third position, respectively.
In the girls’ category, Techi Yagum won the race, followed by Iling Borang and Tai Api in second and third position, respectively.
The special prize was won by 48-year-old Political Science Associate Professor Dr Kago Gambo. Dr Gambo, who is also the games & sports adviser, finished the race in 52 minutes.
The race was earlier flagged off by DNGC Principal Dr NT Rikam.
College PTI LR Singh and Games & Sports Secretary of the DNGC Students’ Union Phassang Sajan assisted Dr Gambo in organizing the event.
