Pasighat, Nov 14: One day training programme on “sustainable and quality production technology of khasi mandarin” was held at College of Horticulture and Forestry, East Siang District, Pasighat. The programme was sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi under All Indian Coordinated Research Project on Fruits, Pasighat Center.
All together 35 farmers from Depi Moli, Kangku, Kebang, Rottung, Kakki, Beging and other nearby villages participated in the training programme.
Dr L. Wangchu, Associate Professor and Principal Investigator of the project presented recent advances in mandarin cultivation with special reference to location specific problem relevant to the district. He also talked about the major pests and deficiencies in Khasi Mandarin.
The trainees’ along with the Resource person visited the Citrus Nursery and Oil Palm Field in the college and where a discussion was held clarifying their doubts and problems faced in the field.
