ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Senior advocates Nani Tagia and Sanjay Kumar Medhi were appointed as additional judges in the Gauhati High Court on Saturday through a central government notification.
The judges have been appointed for a period of two years from the date on which they assume office.
According to a report published by ‘Bar & Bench’, their names were recommended for elevation by the Supreme Court Collegium in April this year.
Their addition would take the working strength of the Gauhati HC to 19, as against a sanctioned strength of 24.
