ITANAGAR, Nov 22: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) conducted a 10-day door-to-door legal awareness campaign in various districts of the state from 9-18 November to mark the Legal Services Day.
Sixty-two legal aid counsels and 146 paralegal volunteers covered 12,576 households throughout the districts, and over 60,000 persons were made aware of the availability of legal services.
As many as 572 persons in need of free legal services were identified, and steps to provide legal assistance to them have been initiated all over the state, APSLSA OSD Dani Belo informed.
During the campaign, legal aid counsels, paralegal volunteers and members of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society visited houses and apprised the people of the concept of legal services and the means of obtaining them, besides distributing legal brochures and pamphlets on various topics of law.
