Officers’ Club Seppa emerges overall team champions
SEPPA, Nov 23: Officers’ Club Seppa emerged the overall team champions in the recently concluded 8th edition of the Greater Kameng Badminton Championship with 8 eight gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals, edging past previous champions Tawang with over 100 points.
Touted as one of the biggest badminton championship events of the state, the 8th GKBC concluded here on Thursday with 17 final matches fiercely competed in by the teams from Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang, Nafra, Bhalukpong and host Seppa.
The final events were witnessed by Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang and local MLA Tapuk Taku as the chief guest and the guest of honour, respectively.
Started on 19 November, the championship saw enthusiastic participation of over 150 participants from six clubs of three districts from erstwhile Kameng district, centering on the theme ‘Unity through sports’, organized by the Officers’ Club Seppa, under the aegis of the East Kameng Badminton Association and the Greater Kameng Badminton Association.
The next edition of the GKBC will be played at Nafra in West Kameng district.
