NAMSAI, Nov 25: The Namsai district administration carried out a massive raid against plastic carry-bags and tobacco sale at the Sunday market here on Sunday.
A team comprising EAC AJ Lungphi, executive magistrates L Ampi, O Saring and IT Riba and police officers seized the plastic bags being used by vendors, and imposed penalties on them.
The DA also seized unauthorized IMFL and tobacco products.
The administration had earlier issued an order banning the sale of tobacco products near educational institutions, hospitals and religious places. It has also imposed a complete ban on the use of plastic carry-bags throughout the district.
