‘Conserve DEMWS’ flora and fauna’

PASIGHAT, Nov 25: Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) Secretary Sakuntala D Gamlin appealed to the locals here in East Siang district to conserve the rich flora and fauna of Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary.
Gamlin, accompanied by DEPD Joint Secretary Dolly Chakrabarty, Pasighat DFO Tasang Taga and other wildlife officials, visited the Sibiyamukh portion of the sanctuary on Sunday.
Expressing happiness at witnessing the rich flora and fauna of the sanctuary, including river dolphins, various bird species and wild animals, Gamlin urged the locals to conserve them.
“Development of ecotourism in the sanctuary may attract foreign tourists and nature lovers, which will enhance the rural economy,” she said.
