DOIMUKH, Nov 30: Members of Pare Project Downstream Welfare Committee (PPDWC) held a peaceful dharna at the HOP office NEEPCO, Doimukh here on Friday to press for their demands. They also submitted a memorandum to the chairman-cum-managing director, North East Electrical Power Corporation Ltd. NEEPCO ltd, Shillong.
The PPDWC has in its ten-point memorandum demanded compensation against damaged property caused by dam water released during the 16 September, 2018, immediate construction of permanent anti-erosion wall at vulnerable area, protection of four numbers of suspension bridge located at downstream village of Lekhi, Rose, Lekha and Tigdo, construction of a siren tower at ten villages of downstream and appointment of regular siren operator etc.
