Churches under NBCC start clean election campaign

NAHARLAGUN, Nov 2: The 1st phase of the Church wise Clean Election Campaign (CEC) of the Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC) was held on 2 December in twenty-four Churches under Capital range with the signature on a pledge card promising oneself not to take or give bribe during election.
More than 1000 believers signed the pledge card for clean election till today. The movement will continue in many forms with the planned strategy to all the NBCC Churches and other like-minded organizations.
During the campaign a group of NBCC executives and the administrative members spoke on the topic “Take no bribes, for a bribe makes you ignore something that you clearly see. A bribe makes even a righteous person twist the truth.” Exodus 23:8.
The NBCC Clean Election Committee in a release said that its clean election movement is not against any political parties or any individual contesting candidates but a clarion call to a peace loving citizen to vote without accepting or offering bribe.
