Minister concerned at slow PMGSY progress

ITANAGAR, Dec 3: Expressing concern over the slow progress of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road project across the state, RWD & IPR Minister Bamang Felix called for a two-day state level review meeting of PMGSY, here at the state banquet hall.
The meeting, which began on Monday, was chaired by the minister and attended by all the engineers of the department, right from junior engineers to chief engineers.
In his address, Felix raised alarm over the slow progress and poor performance of the department in executing and implementing major and important projects under the flagship programme, like PMGSY in the state.
He asked the department to plan meticulously and execute the road projects diligently in the interest of the state.
The minister informed that he was “deeply upset by the slow progress of PMGSY road projects” and cited it as the reason for calling review meeting in order to sort out the problems and technical difficulties, if any, during the meeting.
Felix asked the officers to pull up their socks and gear up new strategies for taking up future plan in order to expedite the work. He urged the engineers to have new vision and better planning
to restore and improve the progress of work and target achievement in a time-bound manner.
He assured all possible help and assistance from his side for efficient execution of the PMGSY road projects.
Earlier, , RWD Chief Engineer Toli Nyodu threw light on the overall scenario of performance and progress of PMGSY activities circle-wise across the state. (DIPRO)
