LUMRI, Dec 15: In a strong message, Environment & Forests Minister Nabam Rebia on Saturday asked those who received land compensation against the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) project without having any structure on the RoW to immediately surrender the amounts to the government or face legal action.
“It is painful to hear about the so-called TAH land compensation scam which has brought a bad name not only to Yachuli but to other parts of the state also,” the minister said, addressing the people here in Lower Subansiri district.
“Illegal land compensation issue of this area is raised by all, including the governor, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju, because of the inconvenience faced by the general public,” Rebia said, adding that those who arbitrarily took government money should surrender it immediately.
“No one will be spared, and everyone who received compensations without any structures should come up voluntary and surrender the fund without making any delay,” the minister said.
Earlier, Rebia inaugurated the Neelam Nedo football ground here, named after former Banderdewa DFO, late Neelam Nedo.
