PASIGHAT, Dec 17: The East Siang district education department conducted a special training programme for the games and sports teachers of the district to promote sports and physical education in schools.
The teachers were trained on how to motivate schoolchildren towards sports and other co-curricular activities for their overall development.
Attending the concluding day of the two-day training here on Sunday, DDSE Jongge Yirang informed that the education department has made games and sports activities and competitions mandatory in every school of the district.
“To tap the students’ hidden talents and facilitate them in building careers out of sports, the department is regularly conducting annual sports events at cluster, block and district level since the last three years,” he said.
The training was imparted by five master trainers and a coordinator.
