YGFC lift Pachin Premier League soccer cup

PACHIN, Dec 18: Young Generation Football Club (YGFC) of Papu Nallah lifted the Pachin Premier League Football Tournament cup on Tuesday.
In a pulsating final played on the football ground of the government secondary school, YGFC defeated United FC 1-0 to win the tournament.
The tournament, which began on 9 December, was organised by the Sangcham Ajing Football Club (SAFC). Twelve teams participated in it.
Attending the valedictory function, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso said, “Apart from keeping a person fit and healthy, games and sports instill the sense of discipline and sincerity.”
Encouraging the players, Kaso said youths have a great role to play in the development of the state, and appealed to them to maintain communal harmony. He also extended financial assistance to the club for promotion of football.
Among others, organising chairman Tadar Takiong, secretary Tarh Agon, games & sports secretary Dari Lugu, Delhi Arunachal Students’ Union president Likha Akash, local residents and school students were present at the valedictory function.
The winner team was awarded the trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the runner-up team received a trophy and Rs 25,000.
Dorjee Serpa was the highest scorer, while Nabam Jackey was adjudged the best player and Lishi Lee the best goalkeeper.
