NAMSAI, Dec 23: Host Namsai and Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) became the first two teams to reach the semifinals of the 17th Tadar Tang State Level Football Championship.
The hosts, who had stunned three-time champions Kurung Kumey 3-2 in the tournament opener, routed Lower Siang 5-1 here on Sunday to seal their place in the semifinals.
The APP booked their place in the semifinals after beating Kurung Kumey 2-1.
Toko Poliam and Liki Nirin scored a goal each for the APP team. The lone goal for Kurung Kumey was scored by Phassang Tama.
On Saturday, Dibang Valley pipped West Siang 1-0. Lukey Miwu scored the goal in the 16th minute.
Earlier, Lower Subansiri was given a walkover against defending champion Capital Complex.
