NDRF retrieves two dead bodies

MANI, Dec 24: The body of an 11-year-old boy who had drowned in the Pare river, at the picnic spot near the secondary school here in Papum Pare district, was retrieved by the Doimukh-based NDRF team on 23 January, the same day the incident occurred.
The NDRF team, after receiving information that a minor boy named Sameer Sangami had drowned in the river at 8.30 am, started search operation under the command of Inspector Rahul Ranjan and supervision of second-in-command Arun Deogam.
The body was retrieved at around 1.35 pm, following hours of search by the deep divers, an NDRF release said.
Later, the body was handed over to the local police.
In another incident, the NDRF team recovered the body of a person who had met with a car accident on the Ganga-Jullang road, near the SP office here, on the intervening night of 23 and 24 December.
The man has been identified as Taking Tasing (31), a resident of Jomo village in Siang district.
The body was later handed over to the local police, informed the NDRF.
