SEPPA, Dec 29: The East Kameng district unit of the BJP organised a motorcycle rally from the general ground here to Bana on Saturday to strengthen the party in the district.
Attending a public meeting after the rally, state BJP vice president Tadar Dominic asked the party workers to work for the public and strengthen the party for the 2019 assembly election.
On issuing the party ticket for the East Seppa constituency, he said, “We don’t see any competent leader besides the present sitting MLA (Tapuk Taku); so, hopefully, the party will provide ticket to him.”
“We are hopeful that under the present leadership of Tapuk Taku we will win again in the 10th East Seppa assembly constituency,” he added.
Pointing out that elections generally give rise to misunderstandings between families, he requested the people of the constituency to maintain brotherhood during elections.
“Elections will come and go, but family will always remain.
An election to find a better representative for the all-round development of the district should not come at the cost of fights and misunderstanding among families,” Dominic said.
Taku, who also attended the programme, said the rally was organised to “recognize all the party workers.”
“The BJP is for development of the state, and every single worker of the party should promise to work for the party and Chief Minister Pema Khandu,” he said.
Taku also issued clarification on the allegations framed against him by the Reformative People’s Forum, saying “the allegation by few vested, recently formed group, is totally motivated by someone to tarnish the party image. I have no involvement in any of the allegations framed against me.”
The state BJP’s eastern zone general secretary Lellung Lingfa said they were positive that Pema Khandu would become the chief minister again after the 2019 assembly election.
An oath-taking ceremony for ‘Mission 2019’ was also held, during which the party leaders and workers vowed to work dedicatedly for whosoever is given the party ticket, bearing in mind that it would be for the cause of the public as well as the party.
