Certification prog of ECI for ROs and AROs begins

ITANAGAR, Jan 16: The certification programme of Election Commission of India (ECI) for returning officers (ROs) and assistant returning officers (AROs) of Arunachal Pradesh has started simultaneously at Itanagar and Namsai on Wednesday.
The first batches at both locations would undergo training from 16 to 19 January, while the next batches would undergo training from 21 to 24 January at both locations.
National level master trainers are being deputed by the ECI to train the ROs and AROs in this four-day long training programme.
Earlier, addressing the participants in the inaugural session of the training programme at the DK Convention Hall here, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Election Officer Kaling Tayeng said that the ECI has started a certificate programme for ROS and AROs so that “no mistake is done during polls.”
He further said that the district election management plan, communication plans to all polling stations and staff requirements should be re-assessed and updated keeping in view the practical requirements of respective areas.
All the ROs/AROs of the state will be trained on all aspects covering the entire gamut of election processes.
All the deputy commissioners of the state who are also the district election officers are also attending the four days training.
