Continue judicious utilization of resources: Ngandam

ITANAGAR, Jan 16: Minister Education-cum-chairman APSHEC, Honchun Ngandam has appreciated the progress made so far in the state under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) programme and called for continuation of proper and judicious utilization of resources available, along with strict monitoring so that the schemes are implemented in true letter and spirit.
He said this while addressing the fifth council meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSHEC) convened at the conference hall of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE), here on Tuesday last.
The minister also asked for expediting the inauguration of infrastructure developed through RUSA at their respective sites.
He further extended gratitude to the Government of India for sanctioning Rs 46 Crores and Rs 65 Crores for Arunachal Pradesh under RUSA 1.0 and RUSA 2.0 respectively, for quality development of higher education in the state.
Secretary Education cum Member Secretary APSHEC, Dr Madhu Rani Teotia informed that three new projects, namely Government Engineering College in Tezu of Lohit disrict, Government Model Degree College in Kanubari at Longding district and Government Model Degree College in Piyong at Namsai district have been sanctioned by the MHRD under RUSA 2.0.
Extending gratitude to the state’s Finance, Planning & Investment Department for timely release of state matching share, she called for proper and timely utilization of the funds already allotted to the executive agencies and institutions for the different projects as per the prevalent norms, so that the progress of the works is not hampered. She further stated that timely submission of utilization certificates to the MHRD is also to be ensured for release of subsequent instalment of the funds.
Also, Director Higher & Technical Education cum SPD RUSA, Dr Tayek Talom informed that all the RUSA projects implemented in the state are constantly monitored from SPD RUSA and institutional project monitoring unit to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects.
