APCA celebrates foundation day with call for corruption-free Arunachal

MIAO, Jan 20: The Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association (APCA) celebrated its ninth foundation day across the state with the theme ‘Corruption-free Arunachal’ on Sunday.
Attending the celebration at the Sacred Heart church in Neotan in Changlang district, the APCA’s east Arunachal president Mungtang Mossang highlighted the role the APCA has played in spreading awareness among the people against corruption in the state.
“As we approach election, the APCA wants everyone in the state to be aware of the existing corruption. The dismal education scenario, the poor healthcare situation, the pathetic road conditions are all clear examples of large-scale corruption in the state over the years,” he said.
Mossang advised the people against selling their votes for money. “Selling your vote is the root cause of all the problems in the state,” he said.
The programme in Neotan was attended by all the members of the APCA’s Changlang district unit, besides Miao diocese auxiliary bishop Rev Dennis Panipitchai.
At the St Mary’s church auditorium in Itanagar, Miao diocese bishop Rev George Pallipparambil joined the celebration. He blessed the congregation and advised them to choose the right leaders.
The APCA held similar celebrations in Namsai, Tirap, Longding, Kurung Kumey, East Siang and Kra Daadi districts, and spread awareness among the people to create a corruption-free Arunachal.
