Ensure fund for development programmes are used 100% on the ground: Gov

DARAK, Jan 23: Stating that road, electricity, education and health are required for progress of the society, Governor Dr BD Mishra urged upon the people to ensure that “fund provided for development programmes are hundred percent used on the ground.”
Mishra said this on his visit to Darak Circle, one of the interior circles of West Siang district on 22 January as part of his district tour of the newly formed districts of Shi Yomi and Lepa Rada.
Interacting with the officials and villagers of the circle, the governor emphasised on active involvement of the public in the developmental process, and reiterated on transparency, honesty, accountability in utilization of developmental fund.
He said “officials must be prepared for review and audit and wherever required, mid-course correction must be made.”
Earlier, Local MLA Nyamar Karbak briefed the governor of the developmental activities in the circle.
The governor’s wife, Neelam Misra, who is promoting indigenous loin loom, presented a DVD, titled ‘Buniya ki Ranggi Duniya’ to Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan on the occasion.
During his maiden visit to the circle, the governor and his wife paid obeisance at Benji Liine, a sacred places for both indigenous and Hindu believers.
Earlier in the morning, the governor, accompanied by local MLA PD Sona inspected the advance landing ground at Mechuka in Shi Yomi district. He interacted with the Air Force officials and abreast himself of the latest development. (PRO to Raj Bhawan)
