ITANAGAR, Jan 28: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) conducted a ‘paralegal volunteer (PLV) training’ for members of the Arunachal Pradesh Delinquent Welfare Association here on Sunday.
Addressing the participants, APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the APSLSA in facilitating access to justice by providing free legal services. He also spoke on the roles of PLVs, and gave information on FIR, arrest, detention, remand and bail.
APSLSA OSD Dani Belo spoke about legal assistance to victims of disasters, the rights of the disabled, and the Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme 2011, while APSLSA legal aid counsel Nani Modi informed about the working of the juvenile justice board and the child welfare commission under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, the Domestic Violence Act, etc.
APSLSA legal aid counsel Jumgam Jini delivered a talk on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, right to information, and various schemes of the government.
