DEE intervention sought

ITANAGAR, Jan 30: Expressing its dismay over the recent sanctioned status of stipend against Kamle district from classes I to VIII for the academic session 2018-19, the All Kamle District Students’ Union (AKDSU) has sought early intervention of the Director Elementary Education (DEE) into the matter to ensure that stipend is granted to all students under Arunachal Pradesh State Stipend Scheme.
In a memorandum to the DEE on 22 January, the AKDSU claimed that funds have been sanctioned against only five students out of 161 students from classes I to V, and to 406 students out of 876 students from classes VI to VIII in Kamle district.
“In total, stipend is sanctioned against only 411 students out of 1,037 existing enrolment from classes I to VIII, leaving out 626 enrolled students in Kamle district, which is surprising. It is unfortunate for those 626 students enrolled in different institutes of Kamle district which are being deprived from 10 months’ stipend from the Directorate of Elementary Education,” it further claimed.
