Postal dept has not lost its relevance-DC
ITANAGAR, Jan 30: The Director Postal Services, Arunachal Pradesh Division, organized a philately exhibition at the Science Centre here on Tuesday.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan said “even in this technologically advanced time, the postal department has not lost its importance and is still providing its best services to the people.”
He said that India Post is the only department which can reach the most interior and remote places and provide services to the people.
He also stressed that one of the most important components of an election is postal ballot and it is the responsibility of the postal department to transport these ballot papers timely during elections.
He lauded the department for organising the event and hoped that people from all walks of life would be benefited with the knowledge as stamps collected from all over the world through ages were displayed during the programme.
Students from various schools in the Capital Complex participated in the day-long exhibition. A seminar on philately and a quiz competition were also held among the students on the occasion. (DIPRO)
