JAIRAMPUR, Feb 5: The 4.84 kms long PMGSY road connecting Lungka village with the Stilwell Road (NH 153) was jointly inaugurated by MLA Laisam Simai, ADC SS Choudhury and the Lungka GB here in Changlang district on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering of HoDs, public leaders and villagers, Simai said this was the first time since the establishment of the village many decades ago that an effort had been made to connect Lungka with the rest of the district.
“Though it took time, I am extremely happy that the project has come to an end, and it has started contributing in the welfare of the isolated village,” Simai said, adding that with the completion of the road it has become easier for the villagers to visit the nearby hospital and school.
He also dedicated a bridge to the villagers, and commended the construction agency, RWD, for ensuring work quality.
Earlier, on Saturday, Simai inaugurated the RCC bridge over the Joting-Jodang river in Manmao. The bridge will connect Hetman, Tengpum and Sasum with Manmao circle headquarters.
