NSCCC approves project for rejuvenation of Papum-Poma River

NEW DELHI, Feb 13: The 14th meeting of the National Steering Committee on Climate Change (NSCCC) was held on 7 February last here at the Kaveri Meeting Hall, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the chair of Secretary EF&CC and Chairman NSCCC, CK Mishra.
Representative from various states and union territories of the country took part in the meeting and deliberations were made on the presentations made by them.
The Arunachal Pradesh government also presented the project titled ‘Addressing Climate Change Vulnerability of Papum-Poma River’ at a proposed cost of Rs 24.70 crore for three years, which was approved by the national steering committee.
The state was represented by PCCF (Env & CC) AK Shukla and Deputy Director (Environment & CC) and Project Coordinator D Dohu Robin. Both the officers also highlighted the activities undertaken by the department in the field of climate change.
