BALAPU, Feb 14: Fifty participants, including farmers, gaon burahs, field staffers of the agriculture department, students from Doon Business School, and others benefitted from an awareness programme on ‘doubling farmers’ income (DFI) by 2020′ organised here by the Papum Pare Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on Thursday.
Addressing the participants, KVK Head Dr Bangkeng Permein advised the farmers to be innovative and adopt scientific methods along with the traditional ones “in order to make DFI more successful in true sense.”
Scientists from various disciplines of the KVK spoke on their subjects, explained the importance of soil health cards, and demonstrated how to collect soil samples.
The participants were later taken on a visit to the agro shed net houses of beneficiaries under the SASMIRA scheme implemented here by the KVK.
