ITANAGAR, Feb 15: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have in separate messages greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Oriah festival of the Wancho tribe.
In his message, Mishra said the festival, which is observed to invoke the blessing of the almighty Rangwa, “brings about emotional integration, brotherhood and amity among our citizens which bestows prosperity, happiness and peace in the society,” while Khandu in his message emphasized on “wholehearted participation of all, irrespective of religious affiliations, in indigenous festivals like Oriah.”
The two expressed hope that the festivities would spread the message of love, peace and communal harmony. (Raj Bhavan and CMO)
