JANG, Feb 16: Chief Minister Pema Khandu declared open the three-day Sadbhavna Divas – a celebration of civil-army friendship – here in Tawang district on Saturday.
The CM also launched the ‘Arunachal Rising’ (AR) campaign, and gave away commendation certificates and cash awards to the best ASHAs and angadwadi workers. He also distributed radio sets to 50 angandwadi workers of Jang subdivision, besides giving away land compensation to the beneficiaries from Khet village.
40 Mountain Brigade commander, Brig Rajesh Sethi, delivered the keynote address.
Later, the chief minister gave away letters of appreciation to local army commanders and soldiers for their contribution in building civil-army friendship.
In his speech, Khandu highlighted the importance of civil-army cooperation. He also spoke on the progress of the AR campaign across the state.
Following the speech, MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju flagged off an expedition team of students, under the initiative of the Indian Army.
MLAs Tsering Tashi, Jambey Tashi and Phurpa Tsering, and army brigade commanders were also present. (CMO)
