Governor extends Nyokum Yullo greetings

ITANAGAR, Feb 25: Governor BD Mishra has extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Nyokum Yullo.
In his message, the governor expressed hope that the festival of the Nyishi community would further strengthen the rich and vibrant traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Nyokum is one of the most popular festivals of Arunachal Pradesh. Its celebration is an occasion to evince the splendour of the Nyishi moral heritage and social values. It provides an opportunity to the members of the Nyishi community to present the diversity of the tribal cultural richness of Arunachal Pradesh,” Mishra said.
Saying he is sanguine that the youths, community leaders and elite members of the community would positively contribute towards the preservation of the rich cultural legacy of the community and its traditions, the governor said: “On this auspicious occasion, I appeal to the people of Arunachal Pradesh to maintain peace and amity, respecting the sacredness of Nyokum Yullo festival of our Nyishi brethren.” (Raj Bhavan)
