Union announces bandh over PRC

ITANAGAR, Feb 25: The Apatani Students’ Union (ASU) has announced a 12-hour bandh on 27 February over the permanent resident certificate (PRC) issue.
“The bandh is to condemn the state government for its inept handling of the recent protests by the indigenous people of the state against granting of PRCs to non-APSTs,” said ASU president Habung Tada.
The union is demanding “complete justice for the martyrs,” besides action against those responsible for the killings, and release of the jailed protesters.
