ITANAGAR, Feb 25: Passengers travelling by the Donyi Polo Express train from Guwahati to Naharlagun were left stranded in Harmutty on Monday as the train refused to move further.
Passenger said the train stopped at 4 am in Harmutty and they were told that it would not go on to Naharlagun.
“I would not have travelled if they had told me beforehand,” said a passenger.
She said the train personnel in Guwahati had assured the passengers before boarding that the train would reach Naharlagun as scheduled.
The passengers had to make their own arrangements to reach their destinations in the capital region.
One passenger said that, since there was no transportation between Harmutty and the capital, she had to take a bus to Gohpur to reach Itanagar via Hollongi.
The Indian Railways authorities could not be contacted for their comment.
