Biki Ruja laid to rest; mother appeals for peace

ITANAGAR, Feb 26: Twenty-year-old college student Biki Ruja, who died in police firing on Sunday, was laid to rest on Tuesday in Itanagar.
The burial took place at the family’s private land in B Sector here.
Ruja was a 4th semester student at Dera Natung Government College.
Speaking at the funeral service of her son, Ruja’s mother, Biki Yapa, appealed to the people to maintain peace. Saying that violence only begets violence, she urged people not to do anything that might provoke further unrest.
Meanwhile, more details are emerging about Tsering Wangdi (34), who also lost his life in police firing during the agitation.
Wangdi was a native of Telli village in Tawang district, and was residing in Dirang in West Kameng district.
