ITANAGAR, Mar 10: Two shops were badly damaged in a fire that broke out here in Akashdeep shopping complex on Saturday night.
Eyewitnesses said that the fire broke out at around 9.30 PM on 9 March from behind the shops of Pooja Enterprise and Akash Enterprises, and the wind aided in spreading the fire inside the shops.
Fire trucks and fire fighters immediately reached the spot and contained the fire before it spread further.
Itanagar Fire Station Officer In-charge Koj Taro informed that they received information regarding the fire at around 10pm and immediately sent out a fire truck.
Another fire truck, requisitioned from Pasighat, was also sent to the spot.
While the fire fighters managed to stop the fire from spreading further, the two shops incurred huge losses in the incident.
Officials informed that proper assessment is yet to be conducted.
