PASIGHAT, Mar 14: Former Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal East constituency Ninong Ering, who served the state as Union Minister, announced on Thursday that he would contest the ensuing State Assembly poll from 37-Pasighat West constituency as Congress (I) candidate.
Addressing a huge public gathering at Remi village in East Siang on Thursday, Ering said that he took the decision after meeting with Congress High Command.
Ering, who is native of East Siang, observed that the rural people of Pasighat West (Ruksin) area in East Siang have been suffering a lot in terms of infrastructure development, link surface connectivity, health services, education, water supply, mobile network connectivity and problems in agriculture sector, which the successive state governments failed to addressed.
“As a Lok Sabha MP from eastern Arunachal including areas of East Siang district, I tried my level best to ease your sufferings, and now I am eager to serve an MLA”, Ering said in his address.
Further, he also said the people of East-Arunachal Parliamentary constituency are looking for a new face as their MP.
