Left party enters Arunachal political scene

ITANAGAR, Mar 15: The left party is making foray into Arunachal political scene for the first time with All India Forward Bloc (Aifb) declaring to field candidate for the coming general election. AIFB is an important constituent of left parties which include likes of CPM, CPI and RSP. The party has announced to field its Arunachal Pradesh State Unit general secretary Jomin Nyokir Kara as candidate from the Western parliamentary constituency.
During a meeting held here on Thursday in a city hotel, Shyamal Roy, national secretary and observer for north eastern states, Mihir Nanda, who is also central committee member, along with several members of state unit participated.
In his speech Shyamal Roy, narrated the historical back ground of All India Forward Bloc, which was founded by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. “Our founder fought against the British imperialism.
Since independence we are working towards establish socialism in the Indian way and propagates the left ideology,” he said.
Central Committee Member Mihir Nandi addressing the gathering informed that forward bloc will fight both BJP and Congress.
“We follow the ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The dream of our freedom fighters should come to a reality,” he said.
The Arunachal Pradesh State Unit general secretary JominNyokir Kara urged the younger generation to come forward and participate in national and state level politics. Several resolutions were also adopted in the meeting.
