FIR against 2 over cash recovery in Arunachal

NEW DELHI, Apr 7: Days after Rs 1.8 crore was recovered from two vehicles in Arunachal Pradesh, belonging to the convoy of the chief minister, the deputy CM and the state BJP president, an FIR has been lodged against Christopher Perme, the son of BJP candidate Dr Dangi Perme, and former MLA Ralom Borang.
The two of them had claimed responsibility for the money recovered from the Siang guesthouse in Pasighat.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday had asked the CEO of Arunachal to get an FIR lodged under a penal provision dealing with bribing voters.
While one vehicle belonged to former MLA Dr Dangi Perme, the other vehicle was registered in the name of a deputy secretary of the state transport department.
The state goes to Lok Sabha and assembly polls on 11 April. (PTI)
