JD(U) releases election manifesto

ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The Janata Dal (United) released its manifesto and vision document for the state on Monday, with ‘Development with justice’ as its main theme.
Addressing reporters here on Monday, the JD(U)’s NE Executive Council chairman SNN Lotha said the party would emphasize on creating job opportunities by setting up industries feasible for state-based products, besides review and revamping of the education system.
The manifesto also includes plans to launch an insurance policy under a special scheme for students studying outside the state, and introduction of scholarships for underprivileged students.
Additionally, the JD(U) is focusing on promotion of backyard farming, strengthening ITI institutions, establishment of small and medium industries, improvement of health centres, etc.
