ITANAGAR, Apr 14: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to deploy adequate security forces and officials at all the polling stations where re-polling will be held.
The party said the simultaneous elections in Arunachal Pradesh on 11 April witnessed “unprecedented violence, booth capturing, rigging, vote buying and damaging of EVMs” at various polling stations in various districts, and that “these acts have been committed allegedly by the BJP supporters.”
The APCC requested the ECI to initiate punitive actions against the BJP for its alleged “blatant violation of the model code of conduct and unconstitutional electoral practices.”
