NIRJULI, Apr 16: Three youths died in a tragic road accident here on late Monday night.
The deceased have been identified Tana Tado alias Aman (20) from Toru, Taba Kakik (19) from Mengio, and Nabam Takar (20) from Sagalee, all in Papum Pare district. While Tado and Kakik died on the spot, Takar succumbed to his injuries at the TRIHMS in Naharlagun.
Speaking to the media, Capital SP Tumme Amo said, “Telephonic information was received at around 11.55 pm regarding a road accident near the Dikrong check gate. As per the information, a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, bearing registration No AR-05-4053, collided head-on with a silver Nissan Terrano, bearing registration No AR-01F-6915. The three youths on the bike were going towards Doimukh, while the driver of the Terrano was going to Nirjuli.”
A case has been registered at the Nirjuli police station and investigation launched.
The driver of the Terrano has been taken into custody, Amo added.
