Abducted NPP workers return home safe

ITANAGAR, Apr 19: The two National People’s Party (NPP) workers who had recently been abducted from Longding district, allegedly by NSCN (K) activists, have returned home safe and sound, said Investigation Officer (IO) J Wangsa.
“They returned home safe and sound on 17 April,” the IO said.
He said there was no sign of physical abuse on them.
The NPP’s candidate for the Longding-Pumao assembly constituency, Thangwang Wangham, had lodged a complaint in connection with the case at the Longding police station.
In his complaint letter, Wangham stated that two of his party workers – Apong Wangsu and Yatun Wangsa – had been abducted, allegedly by the NSCN (K).
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made for fresh polling at Longhua under the Kanubari constituency and Longkhaw under the Longding-Pumao constituency, the police said.
