State records significant improvement in class 10 pass percentage

ITANAGAR, May 8: Arunachal Pradesh recorded significant improvement in the pass percentage in the class 10 examination of 2018-19, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the results of which were announced on Monday.
The pass percentage increased to 41.13 percent from 21.16 percent last year- an increase of 19.97 in the pass percentage, said a release from the Directorate of Secondary Education, Arunachal Pradesh.
A total of 13,748 students had appeared in the examination this year, out of which 5,655 have passed.
Among the government schools, girls outperformed the boys by leading the toppers list.
The girls grabbed the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth positions.
Bipasa Bose of GHSS, Naharlagun topped the examination among the government schools with 96.6 percent marks.
Bikar Doni of GHSS, Namsai secured the 2nd position scoring 95.6 percent marks and Honuk Dada of GSS, Bana, East Kameng the 3rd position with 94.4 percent marks.
The 4th position was secured by Ankurita Dutta (90.8%) of Dani Kunia GHSS, Ziro, Lower Subansiri.
The 5th position is shared by Pragya Yadav of GSS, Gidding, Bordumsa (Changlang), KM Karjung Dada of GSS, Bana, East Kameng and Tsering Wangmu of GSS, Kitpi, West Kameng. All three students scored 90.6 percent marks each.
The 6th position was secured by Agosty Tamuk (90.2%) of GHSS, Pangin, Siang, the 7th by Manas Kumar Rai (90%) of GSS, Khonsa Town, Tirap the 8th by Ramyata Rai (89.8%) of GHSS, Pampoli, East Kameng, the 9th position by Puning Beyong (89.6%) of GSS, Bana, East Kameng, and 10th position by Chau Rashwon Singkai (89.4%) of GHSS, Ganga, Papum Pare.
