ITANAGAR, May 16: Following the direction from Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Gupta, a team of officers of the Itanagar Municipal Council, led by Senior Veterinary Officer Dr Goliath Phil, evicted stray animals from Itanagar area on Wednesday and Thursday.
Altogether 40 animals were evicted.
The DC has meanwhile requested the residents of the capital complex to refrain from letting their animals out in the open, “which results in various nuisances like traffic problems, unhygienic atmosphere, etc.”
Gupta informed that the administration will continue with the drive while also observing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. (DIPRO)
